How many layers of laminated glass better sound insulation? Laminated glass has several layers that help soundproof the space. It's also safe for people to use. This type of glass retains its consistency even when broken, and the adhesive film holds the pieces together. It is commonly used in skylights and doors in high-rise buildings, as well as partitions and display cases in retail stores.

Laminated glass consists of two glass plates with a sandwich between them. This interlayer suppresses sound by creating complex barriers between the panes. The intermediate layer is usually made of polyvinyl butyral and has unique vibration damping properties.

Laminated glass can be made of several different types. Some have an elastic PVB sandwich with a silent barrier. Other types of laminated glass contain acoustic designs with three layers of PVB. These layers are usually of a specific thickness.

Laminated glass can achieve a high STC value of 50 or higher. This type of glass can reduce sound by up to 90 percent. However, it should be noted that the thickness of the glass will affect the noise reduction effect. For example, 6.5mm laminated glass can reduce sound by up to 32 decibels.

Double glazing is also an option to consider. Double glazing is available up to 40 STC. However, if you need a higher STC, you need more layers and better materials. This type of glass is commonly used for exterior applications, while triple glazing glass is ideal for interior use.
In addition to strength, laminated glass can withstand the force of bullets and rocks. The pressure and heating processes used to produce such glass make it five times stronger and 100 times harder than standard glass. This makes it a great choice for homes, offices and even cars. The glass will last for years and is an excellent choice for sound-absorbing boards in public places.
