Glass substrate is a thin glass sheet with an extremely flat surface, which is one of the key basic materials in the flat panel display industry. There are 3 kinds of production methods: float method, orifice downdraft method, and overflow melting method. Glass substrates are usually divided into two types: alkali glass and alkali-free glass. There are two kinds of alkali glass including soda glass and neutral borosilicate glass, usually based on float process; alkali-free glass is mainly alkali-free aluminosilicate glass, and its total alkali metal content is less than 1%, which is mainly used by overflow. The fusion method is the main method.
