Quartz glass for optics is a special industrial technical glass composed of a single component of silica, with a series of special physical and chemical properties, and a series of excellent optical properties. Compared with ordinary glass, high-purity quartz glass for optics has a good transmittance in a very wide spectrum from far ultraviolet (160nm) to far infrared (5μm), which is not available in general optical glass. Excellent spectral transmittance and optical uniformity make quartz glass for optics widely used in many optical device fields.

1. High temperature resistance. The softening point of quartz glass for optics is about 1630°C. It can be used at 1100 ℃ for a long time, and the maximum temperature can reach 1450 ℃ in a short time.
2. Good thermal stability. Quartz glass for optics has a small coefficient of thermal expansion and can withstand severe temperature changes. Quartz glass for optics does not burst when heated to around 1100°C.
3. Good light transmittance. Quartz glass for optics has excellent transmittance across the entire spectrum from UV to IR. The visible light transmittance is over 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectral region.
As a special optical material, quartz glass for optics plays an extremely important role in the fields of aerospace, semiconductor, and precision devices. Its performance directly restricts the resolution, accuracy, stability and reliability of related equipment performance.
