Quartz glass for optics is made by melting various pure natural quartz (such as crystal, quartz sand, etc.). The thermal expansion coefficient is extremely small, which is 1/10~1/20 of ordinary glass, and has good thermal shock resistance. Its heat resistance is very high, the temperature for regular use is 1100℃~1200℃, and the temperature for short-term use can reach 1400℃. Quartz glass for optics is mainly used in laboratory equipment and refining equipment for special high-purity products.

1. Good electrical insulation. The resistance value of quartz glass for optics is 10,000 times that of ordinary glass. It is an excellent electrical insulating material with good insulating properties even at high temperatures.
2. Corrosion resistance. Quartz glass for optics hardly reacts with other acids except hydrofluoric acid. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel, especially its chemical stability at high temperature, which is unmatched by any other engineering material.
As an important material, quartz glass for optics is widely used in optical communication, aerospace, electric light source, semiconductor, new optical technology and so on.
